Weird s*** at godaddy (or bluehost, or wordpress….) today

At some point you just throw in the towel & humor their failures.

Clues so far:

  • bluehost absolutely positively INSISTS on installing wordpress in a subdirectory – not root?
  • godaddy aboslutely positively INSISTS on installing wordpress at root – not a subdirectory.
  • wordpress – not much help. Seeing frustrated postings (search “wordpress subdirectory” or “wordpress subdirectory godaddy” & you’ll get some hits for sure.

At this point – I installed at root & let it go. Bizarre.

Circling back to bluehost playing a part. I’m looking for the tell-tales for a “standard” wordpress install in a sub. I’m not finding the configuration lines that support that. Something up w/godaddy support for extremely industry standard .htaccess files.
