Brave New World – Office 365 oe.outlook.com

Are they ready for prime time? Not so sure. Signs of (bogus) bounces for destination e-mail addresses hosted at office 365. mxtoolbox gives a clue: mail.eo.outlook.com shows up in the e-mail routing for problematic destinations. There is a “de-list” e-mail address floating around out there…

Office 365 Enterprise, Sharepoint & Access

40 column limitation is lurking out there for sure. There’s also a 5,000 row limitation as well? Kiddy pool limitations folks.  40 columns?          5,000 rows? http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/90c24c11-7846-433b-b532-4e0739c66786/access-services-and-sharepoint-list-query-limits?forum=accessdev One more tech. reference – seems to confirm 40 row limit. Is this on premises sharepoint group trying to protect their turf (and paycheck?). http://community.office365.com/en-us/forums/148/t/117690.aspx

office 365 enterprise test drive (sharepoint) – underwhelmed

Thus far – underwhelmed. 1st hurdle and yes – think “healthcare.gov” web site debacle – creating an account – took a week for microsoft.com to get around to (sort of) fixing. Fyi – they can’t handle non-traditional phone #’s – voip of any type, goggle voice… Ok – next hurdle – I’m able to create […]

Google Voice Outbound Breakdown

Isn’t this special? Google voice out calls breaking down. Seeing some posts – this is related to on-going force-feed to google plus? As of Today – This works:                 This doesn’t:               Subtle huh? lol.

Droid wifi? Related to Virgin Mobile customer service…

So far – the tweak to wifi setting seems to keep me online. Battery drain issues? Tune in next week. Lol. A bit of history. I was annoyed by cell carrier gouging (are you stupid? – come be one of our customers…). Virgin mobile 1st likely suspect for pay-as-you-go mobile. Well, not exactly. The periods […]

adblock annoyances test drive

Slowly driven insane by the “next item…” pop-ups at slate.com while making the rounds of my morning (ok, mid-morning) news roundup. Does this adblock addon list fit the bill or overly scorched earth? It’s a long list of things they block – facebook, twitter, country specific social networking annoyances… It is blocking the – SURPRISE! […]

I like those percentages – ssd failures…

I’ve been pointing clients to solid state drives (ssd) for a while now. I still believe dell.com & other vendors are charging too high a premium – but I like those percentages. Via slatedot.org: “SSD annual failure rates under warranty tend to be around 1.5%, while HDDs are near 5%”

Be careful out there folks

Fake malware warn droid. History repeats. Mobile advertising – they’re not validating what they’re pumping to handsets – lame. Sad. Not planning on following the links but if it’s biz. as usual – they’d either follow to asking for a credit card (to cover their costs to help me) or they’ll actually try to install […]
