Employee Fitness – Android – Companion

From Android Fitness Candidate # 3. Another “always on” fitness app. Some battery drain issues but offers ability to minimize (but not turn off). Disappearing exercise results? Android Fitness

Employee Fitness – Android – MapMyFitness

From Android Fitness Candidate # 2 – MapMyFitness. Not an “always on” app. Some nice features but sometimes forget to toggle off/on. Not as accurate on predicting type of activity, particularly gym workouts (stationary x-trainer, etc.).

Employee Fitness – Android – Moves

From Android Fitness 1st Candidate – Moves. Concept is nice. Battery use – consistently drains nexus 5 battery w/in 12 hours. No option in most recent release (Jun 2014) to toggle on/off. I could have lived with that. Android Fitness

The insanity of the on premises exchange product group & a nod to Mr. Bursky

Just made my THIRD attempt to throttle down excessive memory use by store.exe in exchange 2010. “Trust us…” from the exchange on premises guys – run away – fast. 😉 And a nod to Mr. Bursky. A # of articles about the issue out there – most w/incomplete fix instructions. http://www.bursky.net/index.php/2012/05/limit-exchange-2010-memory-use/

nexus 5 shakedown – night shots

Testing out night shots (stormy night) on the nexus 5. Editorial comment as far as instagram – I’m over the forced squared cropping. Billion $$$ stock valuation?

Bad Actors – Heartbleed

the thought of “Gee, I wonder how much the NSA has to do with this…?” crossed my mind fairly quickly when the news broke. That didn’t take long. The NSA. Keeping the world safe for democracy…..the NSA   NSA used Heartbleed bug and left consumers exposed…

Due to a few client questions – yet another social network…

“What the world needs now….” (is another social networking site?)

Brave New World – Office 365 oe.outlook.com

Are they ready for prime time? Not so sure. Signs of (bogus) bounces for destination e-mail addresses hosted at office 365. mxtoolbox gives a clue: mail.eo.outlook.com shows up in the e-mail routing for problematic destinations. There is a “de-list” e-mail address floating around out there…

Office 365 Enterprise, Sharepoint & Access

40 column limitation is lurking out there for sure. There’s also a 5,000 row limitation as well? Kiddy pool limitations folks.  40 columns?          5,000 rows? http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/90c24c11-7846-433b-b532-4e0739c66786/access-services-and-sharepoint-list-query-limits?forum=accessdev One more tech. reference – seems to confirm 40 row limit. Is this on premises sharepoint group trying to protect their turf (and paycheck?). http://community.office365.com/en-us/forums/148/t/117690.aspx

office 365 enterprise test drive (sharepoint) – underwhelmed

Thus far – underwhelmed. 1st hurdle and yes – think “healthcare.gov” web site debacle – creating an account – took a week for microsoft.com to get around to (sort of) fixing. Fyi – they can’t handle non-traditional phone #’s – voip of any type, goggle voice… Ok – next hurdle – I’m able to create […]
