feb 25 1949 Albany, NY H o n o r T w e l v e S t u d e n t s A t M i s s i o n D a y C e r e m o n i e s Twelve students of the College of Saint Rose recently re­ceived the hig-hest award given to students by the Catholic Students’ Mission Crusade when they were a(imitted to the Order of Crusade Paladins of the Round Table with the title and degree of Paladin Leader. ------------------------------------------------------- >pj^g students are: Elaine Vir­ginia Cooley, ’51, Marianna Theresa Cronin, ’49, Phyllis Rose Fouhy, ’49, Betty Ann Grogan, ’49, Peggy Mary Hickey, 49, Peggy Mary Johnson, ’49, Ri ta Ann Morrison, ’49, Mary Ann Penasack, ’50, Mary Ann Qualteres, ’50, Ann Teresa Radigan, ’49, Mary Eleanor Roszykiewicz, ’50, and Margaret Elizabeth Tansey, ’49. The Paladin Jewels were present­ed to the girls during ceremonies held in the College Chapel on Mis­sion Day, February 16. Most Rev­erend Edmund F. Gibbons, D.D., Bishop of Albany, presided, blessed and confer red the awards. Reverend Richard Dineen who won this award a t Niagara Univer­sity addressed the assembly of stu­dents and faculty members and explained the significance of the award. The awards are"in recognition of the personal effort made by each girl to promote the Mission cause of the Church. Outstanding activity of the Saint Rose group was in conducting religious v a c a t i o n schools a t Deleo, Southport, Chad-burn, an d Whiteville, North Caro­lina. Spending three weeks the re for the past two summers, they pre­pared the children for Fi r s t Holy Communion and for Confirmation, which was administered by Most Reverend Vincent Waters, Bishop of Raleigh. In carrying out this catechetical work, as in other Mis­sion activities, the students have tried to bre?k down ignorance and prejudice against the Church.
