Sigh. Fyi. Latest imgburn update installs several bloatware programs w/out authorization. Removed and precautionary malware scan. Open source – going, going… But wait – that’s not all. lol. (why would ANYONE want to remove our bloatware?). A last detail – almost zero possibility this was an innocent oversight. Chrome crashed twice during the imgburn […]
Sigh. Got to keep track of those testing sites
Robot traffic stumbled upon earlier today. Older drupal variant web site I keep around for testing use only. 2nd screen shot – just there to confirm that yes – at least some of these robot accounts visit more than once. Idle site – talking to other robots? 😉 Shut down the entry mechanism – automated […]
Fun w/Tech.
Although Slate disagrees – I’m sticking w/my original answer (stereotypical shoulder shrug). 😉 Happy Friday. Btw – France – re: service – you are far from alone. 😉 😉
tech. ‘oops’ – apple map not alone
A stroll down memory lane aided by google maps & earth. Collapsed bridges – not just on apple maps…
another (hacking) quarter heard from? joomla?
I keep a joomla web site around strictly for research purposes. Recently got a small spat of new user e-mails that traced to that test site. one of these days
google will grasp the concept of customer service? gmail, google apps, all cloud are down as of 7:50 am cst. zdnet & other are acknowledging – google.com – not so much. bothers me less that it’s down than that google can’t even get their act together to acknowledge the problem.
Two posts in one day. ddos & wordpress
I believe godaddy.com hosted wordpress were part of this yesterday including mine. What I saw – site was up (perhaps slow) – unable get on admin. pages. We live in interesting times. wordpress ddos limit logon attempts better wp security (maybe)
“might”???
Try to maintain a sense of humor about these microsoft.com groaners. “might be blocked”? On Tuesdays, Thursdays & alternate Saturdays, but only in months w/an ‘r’ in them? Brought to you by the twisted mind of microsoft.com.
Inside the twisted mind of dell.com
It’s dark & scary in there. 😉 Here’s the latest – on the one hand – a bios update on a dell business line computer is labeled “recommended”. Ok. Bios update repeatedly fails over repeated attempts over several months. Why? It’s unpackaged. “download the file and copy it to a DOS-bootable diskette”. For those of […]
